A huge sleep (very deep and extended) was consumed by both overnight. Bodies and minds adjusting to the rhythm of the planetary spin being displaced by 180 degrees one way and 110 the other need time out to recalibrate. And thus we did.
The constant of England being continously covered in grey cloud returned today and thus did the vibe we've all come to expect. After packing up the slow TV capture gear pointing out the window which had captured possibly the most boring of sunrises ever captured Blogger and Non-Blogger headed up to the High Street mall with a few achievements to achieve. All done...local SIM card on one device installed. The other device's eSIM sorted (the dude in the Vodafone shop got a thank you coffee for helping non-blogger out there). Breakfast sorted. Blank notepad sorted. Cash in the wallet sorted. We come on these adventures to experience. Thus we observe and thus question what we see....
Why are there a plethora of barbers and hairdressers along this strip?
Why are there even more device sales and repair shops along this strip?
Why aren't all these kids in school?
Why would they put olives in an omlete when you asked for tomatoes ?
Why would a group of people randomly walk around a locally significant tourist attraction holding up mirrors in order to see themselves doing so?
Sometimes it's easier to simply observe and accept the fact that not everything is due to Brexit.
Unconvinced and pretty much unconcerned we headed back to the lookout pad to refresh just before Polly and Paul picked us up.
This is where the days activities truly started. The boys dropped the girls off at a salubrious Cafe (making sure their exit with the wheelchair was feasible ) before they headed off for a round of golf at a local par 3 course.
The Scott's invented it, the Yanks exploited it, the Shark perfected it (according to himself ) and the English shortened it. This was a great outcome on our behalf as we both got under 50 for 9 holes. The local won on a countback of varoius methodologies whilst Blogger was happy to just to be there.
In the meantime the girls had negotiated coffee, cake and cute puppies and their way home.
The ensuing few hours were happily whiled away whilst consumption of chilled (in one respect) and barbecued (in the other) offerings was duly undertaken.
The right to convey the trip home was won by a tardis taxi (looks like an original black cab but is soooo much bigger on the inside) over Uber (who could not commit).
Apparently they do exist here, yet we'll not know (nor care) about their capabilities as we move forward, as we have a 3 pointer sitting idle... awaiting guidance.
